Join us for the third annual Mayor's Christmas Ball at Great Wolf Lodge to kick off the Christmas season together and raise money for the Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Enjoy a festive dinner and entertainment!
" I want to invite you all to the 3rd annual Mayor’s Christmas Ball on Saturday, December 6th, at Del'Avant. This special evening will once again bring our community together for a wonderful cause. Proceeds from this evening will go to the Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships will once again be awarded to four deserving young leaders in our community. We also kindly ask that everyone bring an unwrapped toy for the Empty Stocking Fund. All toys will be donated to local children during the holidays. If you can’t make it to the event, please consider donating to this wonderful cause or bidding on an item in our auction. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Ball!”

The Evening's Schedule
The Willie T. Edmondson
Memorial Scholarship
The late Willie T. Edmondson served the City of LaGrange for 24 years, leaving behind an incredible legacy. In March 2023, he became the City’s first African-American Mayor in its 195-year history and tirelessly used his position to unify the community. In December 2023, Mayor Edmondson held the first-ever Mayor’s Christmas Ball to raise money to help local high school seniors go to college. The City of LaGrange awarded four one-time scholarships from The Mayor Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund in June 2024. Three students from Troup High School, LaGrange High School, and Callaway High School were chosen by their schools and one student from the LaGrange Youth Council was chosen from a panel of city representatives.
The following students were awarded the 2025 Mayor Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship:
· LaGrange High School Student (also a LaGrange Youth Council Member) KaLisa Lynch. She will be attending Augusta University.
· Troup High School Student Lillian Norton. She will be attending the University of Georgia.
· Callaway High School Student Tyeisha Mesha Middlebrooks. She will be attending Augusta University.
· LaGrange Youth Council Member Lilly Lu Johnson. She will be attending the University of Georgia.
